Day-by-Day Itinerary

After an early breakfast in Arusha, your Kilimanjaro adventure begins with a private transfer to Marangu Gate (1,860m), located at the entrance of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. The scenic 2–3 hour drive takes you through beautiful countryside landscapes, coffee plantations, and local villages. Upon arrival, complete registration and permit procedures while your professional mountain guide provides a detailed briefing about safety, trekking procedures, and what to expect during the climb. Begin your trek through the lush montane rainforest, where you will experience incredible biodiversity including unique plants, colorful birds, and possible sightings of black-and-white colobus monkeys. The trail gradually ascends through the shaded forest before reaching Mandara Hut (2,700m) after approximately 3–4 hours of hiking. Relax, enjoy the peaceful mountain environment, and prepare for the next stage of your journey. In the evening, enjoy a warm dinner followed by a briefing from your guide.

When is the best time to safari in Tanzania?+

June to October is the classic dry season with excellent game viewing. January to March is calving season in the southern Serengeti. The Mara River crossings peak July–September.
